NAF 13-22 LABORER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the operation of the MWR and Community Recreation Department. Incumbent performs one or more of the following duties: Loads and unloads outdoor recreational equipment, to include but not limited to, boats, camping trailers, car haulers, tents, camping gear, banquet tables, chairs, ice chest, camping equipment, heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from trucks, dollies, as well as operate paintball and archery fields. Opens crates and boxes using crowbars and cuts bands using shears. Replenish fuels and petroleum in equipment as directed. Using a shovel and/or other hand tools, digs ditches where grading and sloping is not required. Fills holes with dirt and levels bumps and low places using shovel, hand tamper, and/or rakes. Operates hand and powered equipment such as walking type lawnmowers, edgers and blowers, which do not require very heavy physical effort. Clears small trees and bushes using hatchet, handsaw, or clippers. Operates light utility vehicles, such as, but not limited to, pick-up trucks, utility vehicles, riding lawn mowers, small tractors, etc. Collects and empties garbage cans at various facilities and fields belonging to MWR. Washes cars, trucks, boats and other equipment as required. Maintains restroom facilities at Parks and Pavilions. Supplement Maintenance staff as required. Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and skill sufficient to run lawnmowers, hatchets, saws, hand and other tools requiring the same level of knowledge and skill. Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs, follow simple oral and written instructions. Ability to work safely while moving light to heavy weight objects.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license.
